NIHR Bristol CRF PPIE Strategy 2023-27
At the NIHR Bristol Clinical Research Facility, we are actively incorporating effective patient and public involvement and engagement into our work. The NIHR outline involvement and engagement as follows:
- Involvement is where members of the public are actively involved in research projects and research organisations
- Engagement is where information and knowledge about research is provided and disseminated
Effective PPIE helps us do research, which is more relevant, better designed and with clearer outcomes, increasing the patient and public benefit of our work. As a newer and smaller CRF, we have built our PPIE strategy around three key principles which we will be working towards alongside the Bristol Biomedical Research Centre. These are:
- Inclusive decision making
- Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion
- Continuous Improvement
We will be incorporating these principles over the next five years.
